The Prosperity Act
In Iceland, a new Act on Integrated Services in the Interest of Children's Prosperity has entered into force.
The child becomes the heart of the system
The new laws ensure that children and their families do not fall in-between systems, and are not sent between service providers within municipalities and government institutions on their own responsibility. You can find out more about the changes here:
All children have the right to receive the services they need, when they need them. Getting the right kind of assistance and knowing where to look for it can be complicated. The Act should ensure that children and parents receive the right assistance, at the right time, from the right entities.

Levels of Services
Services for children are provided at three service levels.
Coordinator
All children have the right to have access to a coordinator of services as needed.
Case Manager
A case manager leads the support team and puts together a support plan.
